The History of Güssinger Mineral Water

The healing springs from Sulz can be traced back to geological activity relatively close to the earth's surface after a volcanic eruption. The wedge of heat remaining from the molten masses of lava caused stones containing crystals to release juvenile water and CO2. Due to great pressure and high temperatures the water is forced closer to the surface through tiny cracks. On its way up it leeches valuable mineral salts out of the rocks.

In the well "Becken von Sulz" there is a layer of carboniferous clay impermeable to gases underneath the sky blue clay. Beneath this the confined mineral water horizon develops. When the protective covering is bored through, the mineral water bubbles to the surface as an artesian spring
